Dr. Castaneda has practiced as a prosthodontist and dentist full time in San Francisco, California since 1988. Because of her specialty, she collaborates closely with all other specialists and plays the role of quarterback in complicated dental restorative, implant, occlusal reconstruction, cosmetic, TMJ and injury cases.
Due to her involvement in a variety of treatment cases for over the last 24 years, both clinically and as an expert witness, she has extensive knowledge in the standard-of-care in general dentistry, prosthodontics, dental implants, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, TMJ and injury cases. Dr. Castaneda received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 1984. After a year-long residency in New York at Mount Siani School of Medicine, she completed her residency specializing in Prosthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco.
In addition to serving as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco for five years, Dr. Castaneda was appointed to the San Francisco City and County Health Commission, where she served for four years. Dr. Castaneda has written or contributed to various professional books and articles. She is or has been an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association and the San Francisco Dental Society, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American College of Prosthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontist, to name a few.
